The year 2100: an era where AI and cyborg avatars are seamlessly woven into the fabric of daily life. They work alongside humans, fundamentally reshaping our world.
A world of perfect supply and demand. A peaceful existence free of waste and inequality. Yet in this utopia, the concept of individuality began to fade. As the loss of personal identity emerged as a social crisis, people began to study the nature of individuality—and discovered 1980s Tokyo.
Post-war Japan, rising from poverty, achieved remarkable economic growth and material prosperity. As people attained material wealth, they began searching for something deeper—inner fulfillment and happiness. This quest gave birth to various forms of entertainment, blooming into Tokyo's unique cultural landscape. This was Tokyo in the 1980s. A city pulsing with energy, where young people's distinct personalities clashed and sparked.
To the researchers, 1980s Tokyo appeared as a revelation—everything felt fresh and exciting. To share this era with the people of 2100, they compressed its culture and raw energy into tiny gashapon capsules.
